Over 20 motorcycles have been stolen from Gulu in a period of month, Police say.
Wokorach Simon, the enforchment officer – Gulu Boda Boda Association in an interview with our reporter confirmed that this year, 12/2/2019 to 12/3/2019, his office have recorded more than 20 motor bikes that have already been stolen from boda boda riders of Gulu district.
He added that these motor bikes are mostly stolen by hardcore criminals who normally hit the riders with metalic object, leaving them in grave state, and others beaten to death.
However, last week, Gulu Court remanded one suspect identified as Kisembo Denis.
Kisembo is said to be the team leader from Kiryangdongo district following the arrest of one Francis Odokonyero who was arrested from Laliya after he attempted to steal a motorcycle from one boda within that area.
In his statement, Kisembo told police that he always buy those motor cycle at shillings 1.6million after delivery of the machine to him.
“I always sell them off to the far district,” he told police in a statement.
