Lalogi health center IV in Omoro district which is soon to be upgraded into a district referral hospital, according to reports, for 2 years is operating without an ambulance.
According to the LC3 chairperson Lalogi sub –county, Everest Okwonga, he says the ambulance which was donated by the area Member of Parliament for Omoro County, Rt. Hon. Jacob Olanya Lanywen to the health center in 2016, was involved in a fatal road accident in 2017.
It has since been grounded in one of the garages in Gulu town after it was severely damaged beyond repairs.
Mr. Olanya who’s also the deputy speaker of parliament of Uganda, while speaking to people form Lalogi sub-county on Monday, expressed his disappointment to the news that the ambulance is not yet repaired.
Olanya says last year he pulled the money worth Uganda shillings 6,500,000 from his pocket for repairing the ambulance and the money was given to district.
He now vows to lobby for another ambulance for Lalogi health center IV, this year.
