Woman, 18, arrested for dumping her two year old baby

In Agago district, Police is keeping an 18 year old woman identified as Agenorwot Clare for dumping her own baby.

Agenorwot – a resident of Arom village, Kachi-Kachi parish in Agago district is alledged to have dumped her 2 year old baby in a pit latrine.

She was arrested early this week from Layibi division, Gulu Municipality after his husband notified the police about their missing child leading to her arrest.

Soon after her arrest, the suspect, Ageno admitted to police she dumped their child, and also directed the police where the child was dumped in Kasubi Gowence quarter since the 31/12/2018.

The Gulu DPC Emmanuel Mafundo confirmed the arrest saying she will be prosecuted before the court of law for murder.

Police retrieved the body of the dead child from the pit latrine where he was cast off for more than 3 days.

Okwonga Robert Ayot the LC1 Chairperson of Kasubi village told our reporter that the woman is not resident of that area.

Okwonga appealed to resident to always remain vigilant to the visitors in their home.
