
Succulent Sherry Princess scoops Legendary Female Artist Award.

Northern Uganda Artist Award went down at the Link Gardens on New Year day in Gulu town with both success and disenchantment at the same time.
The venue, The Link Gardens which hosted the event was filled to capacity by 6 pm, with thousands of revelers by that hour still in long queue to be able to catch a glimpse of the best artist of the year whose announcement was for 7 pm.
Our Gulu town based reporter Norine Kazombo reports that the event was well attended by both the well-to-do persons and the common residents of Gulu district alike.
As was anticipated, Eddy Wizzy scooped the best artist of the year with his Angaa mubed mujony [who must be malnourished] single.

Male artist of the year 2018 went to Eezy whilst Liama scooped the best female artist of the year and the best collaboration of the year for her song Mood with Naira Ali.
Kiddy Face won the best gospel artist of the year.
A number of accolades were presented to different categories of artistes, among them Opiyo Twongweno who scooped special recognition award, Bosmic Joyce Otim was presented with the Legendary artists accolade, Sherry Princess was presented with the legendary female artist.

Also, Dr. Kaunda got an award for the best producer while Mc Cash took that for the best MC of the year, 2018.
The occasion was however marred by a brief tension after the former female artist of the year, Maria A, was called to present Liama with the same accolade.
Filled with rage, Maria took the microphone and vowed never to participate in the same event gain. She was however cooled down after intervention by the organizers.
According to Okot Juma, the organizer, the event seeks to recognize hard work and talent in a bid to promote music industry in the region.
